Hope everyone is enjoying their new year so far! I am a Facebook Junkie ( well, not as bad as some, but I do visit it throughout my day), and I have noticed an influx in articles about women who took their lives because of PPD ( post-partum depression). One commonality that every article has, is that these women seemed perfectly happy, and it was unexpected. We discuss these topics in our Yogafairy Prenatal Yoga Class, but I wanted to share this here for those that are not currently taking class.
Dr. Liz had given me a link to her website that talks all about PPD, and I wanted to share it with you as well as a few words from Dr. Liz:
The first weeks after having a baby is SO hard! You freak out. You don’t know what to do. You’re crying all the time! Most of what you read on the internet says this should last about two weeks. Dr. Liz says that if it’s your first baby, you’re pretty much insane for a good solid six weeks until a baby figures out night from day, which happens around six weeks or so (unless you have some specific warning signs). Find out more about when to wait it out or or when to get help by knowing The Warning Signs or watch the video she made about this.
I hope this blog, and information finds all the past, present, and future Yogafairy Prenatal students helpful. Remember that help is always available.
